air comp on its side?

Post by bru55el »

Hi all

Sorry if this has been covered before but couldn't find anything with search.

I have a Big Red air compressor which I intend mounting in the engine bay.

What I want to know is can compressors be mounted on their side or will this kill them?

Cheers

If the motor is still horizontal you should be fine. If you mount the motor vertically you may find the bearings can't hack it.

Cheers,

big red should be ok in any orientation - but give the manufacturer a call/email to make sure. (they are made by Thomas in the USA I think?)
Free air locker to the first 20 callers!
