i have a question i cant find an answer on here anywhere have searched a few times but came close but still doesnt answer my question !
im doing a front and rear toyota centre conversion and CV conversion and im about to order my axles from jack mac with either toy ends or rover ends upfront.
im just wondering if i run toyota CVs do i use a toy CV plus that little length of axle attacted to it? to replace the rover one because i havent measured the toy one but it looks longer than the original rover one?
does jac mac only supply the front flange which connects to the toy CV i was going to ask the guy from jack mac but he sounded kinda grumpy and in a rush.
any idea how much a couple of secound hand toy cvs cost or is it better using sams toy CVs which are $300 each

new toy cv's around $80 - 110 each aftermarket dont know how strong.
second hand - the wreckers i rang wont seperate the cv's from the shafts. they want around $110 for axle and cv

ok so if i only order the rear axles + drive flanges and the long side of the front axle halfshaft and 2x front drive flanges + 2x brass bushes i should be ok.
If i got to the wreckers and buy 1 x 60 series short front axle and both cvs and i already have the toy centres out of a 100 and a hilux
il have everything i need to do the conversion
PS i also need the rear housing out of a range rover wagon with the filler on the housing or else il need to make one on mine as its on the centre.

Here is a list of what you will need to complete this conversion.
Toyota High Pinion centre for the front,
Hilux Low pinion Centre for the rear,
2x Jacmac rear axles. If you are going to 30 spline outer drive flanges you will also have to Bore out the spindles to suit this,
Long side Jacmac Front axle,
60series Cruiser Short side axle or if you want a better quality Axle go for the Jacmac axle to suit,
4x Drive Flanges to Suit,
Bored and modified Front Spindles to suit the Hilux CVs. This is not just fitting a bush. The spindle also needs to be bored out and Machined to suit the hilux Bush.
Modify both pinion flanges to suit the range rover tailshaft. This requires machining the spiggot hole larger and re-drilling the flange.
A full set of Toyota Diff Centre Studs and nuts to locate the centre. You will also need the appropriate drill and tap to suit this.Dont make the same mistake we m,ade and use the original Range rover studs and re-drill the toyota centre as this is a PITA when you need to replace a centre at Tuff Truck
A gaskit to suit a hilux diff centre is realy handy with marking the housing.

You can get away without doing this but you need to remove the Swivel Housing fit the axle then re-fit the Swivel housing. Then fit the CV to the axle. But its much easier if the Swivel housing has been modded.
Yes bored the same as the swivels No other mods to the Swivels needed. Remember you are going to need to Bore your Rear Spindles as well if running 30-30 spline axles. If you run 30-24 spline axles you can fit the axles through the diff centre hole before fitting the centre. Sorry you could be correct. Im pretty sure we got ours made the same as the Toyota Axles so they dont have this coller. I think the first sets had the Collar but im sure the last set we got didnt have it. Yes thats what its for but the Toyota Axle has the C-clip to hold it from going in to far.landy_man wrote:yep... i run a 60 series and jacmac up front...

i assumed the collar was to stop the axle sliding too deep into the diff....
not 100% sure though...
ok i got my axles today and 2 bronze bushes from jac mac and that drawing same as the one above...however im not really sure where everything goes.
the brass bushes i got do i need to replace the ones that are on my front spindles with these placed over metal ones or somthing? do i need to remove the orininal brass looking one and bore out the spindle to fit the new one supplied by jac mac?

yep will do, im going to make a website with heaps of photos and details on how i did the conversion. im currently waiting for race engineering to finnish modifying those spindles then i can start mounting the centre for the position and drill and tap the studs.
im going to run standard toyota cvs out of a hilux/bundera until i break one then il probably upgrade to somthing better. iv spent soo much money on the mods lately i thought if i can save some $$ i will.
