GQ Front Door Hinges
GQ Front Door Hinges
I have done a search and looked at the bible but cant find anything on door hinges.
My front door hinges on my GQ are making loud clicking noises when opening. The doors haven't sagged but I think this is a common problem on GQs.
I have tried cleaning them and oiling without sucess so I guess the remedy is to buy new ones.
Question is do I need to change the top hinges or bottom or both?
Also where's the best place in Melbourne to get them from?
Thanks
Mel

iirc the problem is caused by the top hinge "flat spotting" in one area which causes the loud click...

i don't think the hinge is the problem, its the door hold open thingy. you have plenty of energy if you are happy to spend hours and close to $100 to fix a click. i greased mine an that will do

If the above post did not offend you in any way please PM me so I can try harder!!
So the pin seizes and develops a flat spot. Anyone got any solution to "unsiezing" it, like smack it with a chizel or something. Very awquard to get to. Would love to know "the solution" before I stuff mine up.
I have tried wedging the door open to get to the roller pin but with no luck. Do I have to take the door off?
