Off setting front radius arms

Post by Jay »

I need to offset the front radius arms on my disco. I have a 3" OME lift, 2' BL and 36" ET'II.
There is a lot of pressure on the bush and some driveline issues.
Need advise and drawing please showing how much to lenghten and to offset.

Thanks
Jay

I drew mine on a peace of steel.

drew new hight of mount IE: lifted mount point 75mm

Bent arm to suit.

arm ended up 2mm shorter.

Do you mean you lifted mount point 75 mm from center of radius arm?
On a 3" lift won't my arm be longer actually after bending?

Will it affect any driveline issues?
Did you work out from an actual radius arm....

Thanks

Jay,
you may find issues with the uni's binding 75 mm is pushing the limit of front drive shaft

I run a high pinion front diff so I have no issues.

THe best way to fix the front suspension set up is IMO.

1: Bend ars so that the chassy bush is set as per std.
2: bend arm nearer to axle housing so that the pinion points at the out pout on the t/case.
3: Rotate swivell housings to correct castor.

This will se up the front so that it drives correctly.

I would appreciate if you can elborate more on point 2 and 3.
In case castor is not corrected ok i will be facing serious front vibes/driveline issues right?
Thanks
