propshaft binding....(not even rumbles ;) )

Post by SeriousIIa »

Finally Danger (my new RR project) is up and running. Just drove the first few meters. But the front prop is binding very badly . The angle is just to great (even when not even flexing, just when driving) at the gearbox side. The U-joints are binding.

The set up is approx 4 inches of lift. (springs) and castor corrected radius arms.

What is a normal maximum operating angle for a stock RR shaft? Because I found the props on the gon2far website:

http://www.gon2far.co.uk

They say it has 10 degrees more then standard flex. But how do I determinine if this is enough?

Already have got a DII prop lying around will check if it will fit tonight. But don't that one will work because the diff isn't pointing directly to the gearbox , so the U joint on that side of the drive shaft will wear very fast I think?

Thanx for the input!

Cheers Bowy

measure drive shaft angles check against the new shaft.

Fit the double cardan disco shaft reset radias arms topoint pinion at t/case.
rotate swivels to correct castor. THIS IS THE BEST OPTION.
