Starting to contemplate the rebuild on the middy after it went up in flames. The panel beater reccommended using replacement panels up the front as the fire damaged ones would probably rust later on. Would the panels from a troopy or 75ser cab / chassis (or 70 swb for that matter) fit on to the middy??? If so it would just make it easier to find stuff.
Any other suggestions / advice on rebuilding a burnt engine bay would be greatly appreciated.
(And don't say, "sell it and start again." I've come too far for that)

As per the thread "Starting from Scratch"
The very day I get everything finished after 18 months of ironing out "teething problems" from the V8 conversion and putting the suspension and 35s in all engineered etc... That day I was driving up Mt Buller to set up for the season (I work up there) and the bastard caught on fire.
The engine is the only thing left in the engine bay is the engine and I lost the drivers side of the dash.
I'll put up pics soon

Wow, sorry to hear that. That must have been a heartbreaker.
The panels from a ute/cab chassis would be perfect for the middy. Anything from the doors forward will work. The troopy uses different doors and windscreen but the guards and grille would fit just as well.
Be sure to get the wire harness from the donor vehicle as this would make the rewiring a bit easier. I'd just tear out the old one and fit the harness from the 75. You have to shorten most of the wires going to the rear and extend the ones going to the fuel tank.
You may also want to get the fuel and brake lines from the donor as these can be damaged or melted in the fire.

Hard luck about the middy.
Just a side note, if replacing your grill with a troopy one you may need to get the support panel the two centre screws go into as they line up differently, also on the sides, the bottom screws do not line up as the brackets are longer on later models.
I have a few things that may help you as I'm wrecking a troopy at the moment. PM if interested.
