What lift for 35's on GQ

im going to be getting a GQ very soon as soon as i sell my current car and was wondering what is the minimul lift to run some 35" ET2's.

was thinking of doing a 4" dobinsons lift is this enough or do i need to do a body lift or some guard cutting?

some pics would be nice too.

I have 35's on cruiser offset rims on my shorty gq with a 5' spring lift and bunnings garden edgeing flares. I had a bit of rubbing when steering but just bashed the inner guards out a bit and bashed the bumper a bit with a soft hammer and problem solved. Only get a little bit of rubbing when articulating, not much of a problem. Probably be better with a 4" spring and 2" BL, but I'll put up with the rubbing. Only other thing is the spare will probably not fit on the back without some changes made. Heres a piccy taken down with the newy crew on last monday

I'm running 35" muddies with 2" body lift and 2" spring lift with spacers. I get a bit of rubbing on the rears at full artic, otherwise fine. I don't think you need a 4" lift to run 35's (only if no BL, I guess), but I would go a 2" BL and 3" spring if I were to do it again. If you've got the cash then go for a 4", otherwise what I have said above will be pretty good. Welcome to the GQ club! Good luck with your rig.

3" springs, no body lift, guard trim, fits Q78s, 35 x 10.5 centipedes etc. Only rubs on the inside of the rear arch.

is there much price difference between 3 and 4" lift and what has to be done to a 4" that u dont have to do to a 3" to make the price different?

Apology accepted. Have a search in the Nissan forum, also here, it has been asked numerous times. Check for Hotties multi page thread on a 4inch lift while back.

unsurprisingly, if you search for the word 'search' under the user name bogged it returns 127 matches!!!!!! Just think how low his post count would be if he didnt just reply to every post with "search noob"

if no gaurd chopping personally id got no lower than 5 total with 35s...

cruiser offset rims and your away... you'll generally always get some rear inner gaurd rubbing on the rear unless you limit flex..

my front is currently limited by shocks

so if i do a 3" spring lift and a 2" BL then i will be able to run 35's comfortably with no cutting or rubbing? is that right?

why are cruiser offset rims the way to go?

They might still rub a little , but its all good . Its minimal . The cruiser offset is aprox 10 mm wider to minimise the rubbing on the inner guards at the rear. Im running 36 s with 3 inch suspension + 2 inch body, and had to trim an inch from the rear of the guards front and rear. Hope this helps , shane............

if u run 36's with only 1inch trim i might do the same after a bit and run some 36's

Only slightly on the back of the rear guards. Not enough to worry about, I only trimmed when i went to 36 s

some pics of the guard trim. Note that I cut back to the start of the indented v in the panel. It looks like alot when your cutting but you need it to clear 36 s . Mine dont rub at all now.
