if your goin to so much trouble why not piss the lsd [due to yotas being so piss poor] n fit a locker of some variety instead

as for the crown wheel n pinion i paid about $450 from kotara 4x4 and the bearings shouldn't be to dear from a bearing mob

prices will vary on cownys n pinion due to there a cheapys n expensive brands

as good as it sounds, the crown wheel and pinion are going to cost enough as it is

any ideas on a decent price? it seems labour cost is making up a good chunk of the price

Buy another used diff from a reputable wrecker or someone on this forum and give someone a slab to fit it.

new gears, bearings and fitting should come in around $800 - $900 which is a fair bit of cash when you can get a used LSD 4.88 bundy diff from wreckers for $300 - $500.

OR you can get a 4.88:1 hilux diff from wreckers for $50 - $100, and just slap it in - or take both diffs to a shop, ask them to swap the gears into your bundy 3rd member with the LSD, labour and bearings should be around $300.

prices vary a lot...

1000+ for crown wheel and pinoin for factory toyota parts, down to around 500 for new parts made by other people.

have sort of decided to go with a CW and P from maxitrac and timken bearings unless anyone tells me something to change my mind. ends up around 700 in total
