Exhaust know all? XForce Cat converter question......

Post by -Nemesis- »

When I do my exhaust on the 1UZ i'm going to run twin 3" hi flow cats. Now from some zorst mobs i've been quote up to $400 each on cats.
However on eBay I found these XForce brand Stainless Steel Cats. On asking the dude selling them he offered me 2 for $310 including delivery

So.......... Whats wrong with them? Anyone know?

Pretty sure I recognise the brand, but I can't find much info on them and how good they are.

I'm wondering if they're imported and maybe non ADR compliant. Do you think an engineer would pick that up?

Probably no warranty and not fitted.

I used to charge $500 fitted for two with 12 months warranty, unless it was part of an entire exhaust in which case it would get discounted.

Sold the shop though!

Ahh so you recognise them? Are they any good do you think?

I'm not up to the exhaust stage yet, but I can hopefully save quite a few $ this way. Just buying bits at good prices up front till I have it all........

Another question if anyone knows...... Do you need to get an emissions test done with an engine conversion in NSW?

i have a mate who is running x-force gear on his soarer. twin x-force mufflers, and the 3" x-force cat.

i think they are pretty good. he's running a 1jz turbo.

warranty would be ideal, but there no probs with x-force that i know of.

As far asI know all you have to do to pass emissions is supply paper work of the vehicle it was released in. Unless it has been noticably modified
cheers

Not sure yet, i'm going to research the engineer part soon. Probably scour these boards for recommendations.....

I'm still a fair way off yet, still gathering all the goods.
