Tips on plumbing an auxillary fuel tank into GQ

Hi guys,

I bought myself a second hand LRA 55lt auxillary fuel tank and want to install it into my swb gq. I also have an OL 147lt long range tank in the back (this is already installed and working). I have mounted it all in position and now i have to plumb it in so it works.

I only have a few days as i am leaving for the simpson dessert on Saturday.

I have an electric fuel pump that i can use as well. What is the easiest and quickest way to do things. My main problem is getting the fuel from the 55lt tank to the 145lt tank. I can work out fillers/breathers etc.

There are two hoses coming from the back of the 55lt tank, one is the pick up, what is the other, and which is which. CONFUSING!!

at a guess one is your pick up, and one will be your return, if im correct, normally your pickup will be the largest one, return the smaller one,

if you want to plumb it in easily, why dont you use the eletric pump to pump it straight into the main tank, and only on a switch, with an auxillary guage to monitor level, nothin fancy that can go wrong there,

Long Ranger tanks normally have more than one breather - one is the fast fill breather and goes to the breather by the filler neck, the other is a smaller breather (usually about 6mm which is for fuel transfer between tanks etc, this normally T's into the standard tanks breather.

If its an auxiliary tank intended for fuel transfer to main tank it probably wont have a return line.

Rob this isnt the tank that was on ebay that sold for about $61 is it. If so that was a great buy. Was going to bid on it myself but forgot about it.
