Hi we are looking at a 1992 V6 jackeroo and I was wondering if anyone had any info on them
We have two Cruzers at the moment and are looking for a run around 4wheeler (softer option for school run etc) and we are hoping it will be better on fuel than the thirsty Diesls.
Any info (prferably constructive) would be greatly apreciated.
Thanks Trudi

Trudi,
The Jackaroo is a fairly honest vechicle.
The V6 however isnt known for its economy, but is a strong reliable power plant by most accounts.
Some (Ive read of 3)have reported chassis cracks where the steering idler connects to the chassis, do a search and search on this site and explore oz site and see what pops up.
The 3.0 Ltr diesels had an issue with injector seals.
Surpriseingly capable off road, but not in the same class as Patrol of Cruiser.
Most people I know who have one are happy with it.
Westoztrooper will probably chime in shortly, he has far more experience of them than I.

Re: 92 Jackeroo info needed please
they are a good truck, good value for money. there are also some issues with noisy lifters in the engine when hot, so make sure you take it for a good long test drive and listen to the motor. it isn't a real 'problem' but the noise is annoying. They are pretty thirsty - weight for weight a petrol vehicle will always use 1.5 - 2 times the amount of fuel as a diesel.T.Trudi wrote:Hi we are looking at a 1992 V6 jackeroo and I was wondering if anyone had any info on them
