the adjustable torque bar in the front of my 4runner comes loose everytime i go 4wd is it really needed i no it could result in diff wrapping but is there any other compication with out it

Yes, with the standard steering setup it is required to maintain your steering geo. Without it, as your springs wrap it will change your steering geometry causing your steering to change direction. Hardly noticable on nice smooth roads, however, bad off road and very bad on fast and bumpy roads. Xover steering will eliminate this problem.

go for a drive without it and see, cruise at about 80ish and dive on the brakes asif a roo or sumthin has just jumped in front of u and see what happens.. hold the steerin wheel tight tho lol.. u will get whats called brake steer..
i know a few dudes that dont run them with std steering, its doable but not recomended..

but because my truk is is lifted the steering is sh@t house any way, it comes undone at the chassis mount i ripped the sucker out and hav been driving for the last week without it and get heaps more travel and no problems yet so yeah see wat happens

Do a search and you'll see this has happened to a few Lux's who didn't run the torque rod.
