First off... YES I SEARCHED
Im going to fit power steer to the wifes zook.
We only have 30" MTRs at the moment and probably wont be going bigger than 31s in the future but power steer would still be great off road.
From what I can gather the Jimny box is the go as it bolts straight up and the pitman arm is right too. Is that correct?
Whats the best pump to use? I take it any pump of almost any vehichle will do the same job?
Will I still have room to fit a supercharger later?

Paul.
the jimny box does bolt strait up. and the hole for the drag link tierod end is the correct size.
the only thing i noticed was that you cant fit a sierra std or drop pitman arm ,as it is a vitara spline. also the jimny pitman arm does not have the holes for a steering dampner bracket.
you can use a jimny or vitara pump (or any other for that matter) and still fit the charger above it as long as you dont have a/c.

So whats the go with import sierra power steer?
Is it any good?
That would be the ideal easy bolt on solution would it not?
Is there any reason to go with jimny steering over import sierra if I can find both of them?
Paul.
The sierra steering is quite good. I jnow someone who has it. 31's are not problem at all. You can usually pick up a sierra import setup from a jap wrecker for about $650 including the pump etc.

Might be a bit overkill , But the Range rover one bolts to the inside of the chassis rail , and will run with a holden pump commadore
mounting on the rail would be fab work , but the rubber joint has the same bolt patern as the zook rag joint !
Seems pretty powerful it turns my 35s on bitumen stationary with sports wheel one handed, has heavy arsed V6 sitting on it to .
Just a thought .
So tell me is it possible to bolt up the jimny power steer with the jimny pitman arm and run a standard sierra high steer and drag link with no modification. SPOA of coarse
this is my set up its a 80 series box and a holden V8 vn pump with bundera power steer line's had to mount box over vin number though chassie has crush tube welded in works really well with 37's
oh also had to mod the steering shaft and rag roint to fit
current truck, 105 series GXL diesel 6" springs & twin pro lockers
sierra LWB spoa one wide track diffs twin locked
Are you sure its a holden vn pump, it looks very much like my EA pump ?
Anyway my EA pump and 79 series box turn my 32 inch Pedes an 6 psi on rocks no problems
