is it possible to bolt a hilux gear box up to a 2f motor

it's a no for lots of reasons. To start with if it's a G52 gearbox, it's just not strong enough for a big 6 cylinder motor. the rear output on the hilux transfer is centrered; the rear diff on a 40 is offset and the rear tailshaft is quite short; the uni joint angles would be horrendous. the input shaft spline, length and spigot diameter are all wrong. also not likely to be a bellhousing to mate them up, and a 2F bellhousing won't even go close to bolting to the front of a g52. It's about as close to impossible as you can get really...hypo lux wrote:putting the box in a 40
a H55F with transfer can be picked up for under $400, or a 4 speed with transfer often sells for under $200, so shop around, you can get a good gearbox for a good price.
