Separate Tansfer/Transmission FJ40

Post by Ultima RB »

Anyone know how? I'm trying to replace some gaskets while i've got it out.
I've unbolted the 3 large bolts on the outside and the two which are hidden behind the power take off cover. It moves a little but not a lot.

Here's a link showing as far as I got.

it's a good idea while you've got it out and apart to put fresh bearings and seals through it while you're at it.

cheers

Just ordered some new seals. Gonna leave the bearings till they cause me trouble so I can get frustrated that I didn't do them this time around.

Hacked up an old leaf spring to modify my steering wheel puller and some new bolts and it worked brilliantly.
