need fuel filler hose

Post by rockcrawler31 »

hey dudes

i fitted my new long range tank today, but the hose they gave me for the main filler tee, is a reinforced thing that won't crush down when you put a hose clamp on it. as a result it leaks. even better, it leaks all over my exhaust.

insert running away as fast as i can owner here :!:

anyway. can anyone tell me where i can get a hold of fuel grade rubber or otherwise flexible pipe around inch and a half ID, about a metre and a bit long

in the meantime i need to figure out where i will put 150odd litres of diesel so i can work on the tank

look up industrial hoses in the yellow pages, every city will have places which sell that sort of hose. ( and i dont mean Repco). Here in Adelaide it is called Adelaide Belt and Hose.

try a proper cam type clamp, the fuel resistant viton or similar elastomer hoses are hard to find in a soft type hose, and even then are VERY expensive. a decent cam type clamp will set you back $10 - $15 depending where you get it, but pirtek, hydralink etc will have them
If the above post did not offend you in any way please PM me so I can try harder!!

Fit a bigger section of steel tube over the existing bit and clamp the hose over that. May have to weld or braze it on...
Custom body work by trees and rocks...
