Finally, Ive had my 93 jx for just on a year now and finally it is off its lame stock tyres, i can now hold my head a little higher amongst the so called "real" 4wd's
I've done a 2" homemade body lift, lifted springs and the strut flip. just fitted 30x9.5 tyres on 7" rims. Measuring them they are really 29"x7" of tread width but i'm happy never the less.
never posted a pic before caus i dont really like the vits on small tyres, i have had it in the sand a few times in stock trim and its not fun at all. hopin to spend more time there now campin etc.

What you probably should do is BEFORE you smash your sills get some armour put on there. Even with a bit of lift Vitara sills are REALLY vulnerable. If it's only for beach use you will porbably be ok.
I would also recommend protection for the petrol tank beofre you do any non beach wheeling. You'll be able to get into a lot of places with that setup but you might get caught out just by a small error in your line and better armoured than sorry.
your vit looks clean as, colour coded handles, i like, clear indicator, bling, and looks heaps better with the wheel and tyre package.
did you just paint the bottom half with normal paint, or is it like a stone/chip guard type of paint?
have you washed the blue off the tyres yet?
as with the rock sliders, or sill guards, its not hard to make, and they can double as a side step too if the vit becomes too high to get in. in trying to get mine finished, but just been lazy. i would think a LWB would need them more than a SWB.

Thanx for the compliments but the i owe alot of the credit to the wealth of information available on boards like this. I just basically jot down info and then go shopping. all the mods i have done myself. bodylift i made when i was working as a polyurethane molder.(i wish i has as much info then as i do now- coil spacers etc- oh well).The bumper i actually found in the bush when wheeling, its a tjm but i think it is for a hilux, i just modded and fitted it and gave it a lick of paint.sorry suzy no spottys as yet. side lights are for a vt commodore from ozeparts online -easy mod. the paint was going to be rhino lining but was quoted $600. I just used hammertone silver with a roller from bunnings, it updates the look a bit and is easy to retouch. I am trying to keep the car modern and clean looking while being capable (unlike new small 4bs). I will go back to the skinnys for the next two weeks while i get a wheel alignment and the flares done as the tyres stick out 50mm+ at the moment.
skid plates and rockers are on the list hopefully before i damage something. i hope to be lifting the fuel tank 2+ inches before fitting a skidplate.
the bug has bitten.. just dont show me any 33 inch tyres.
i lifted it about 3", and have about 1" clearance above the tank still.
i made a new crossmember for the back too, and i put a tow hitch in. this wasn't too hard, but it does take a bit of time. i hated my tank dragging on everything, and plus, i didnt like the way it looks before.
i wont need to worry about a skid plate for the tank now. its all up and tucked.
almost finished, i just need to give it a couple of coats of paint, then i'm done.
