hi al im just what to know if the hilux leafs wiil fit in my sierra as they both are 60mm wide
I think you will find that sierra leaves are narrower than hilux leaves. Nominally, sierra leaves are 2" wide and hilux leaves are 2.5" wide.
To use hilux springs on a sierra, you will have to make new chassis mounts, u bolt plates, and there will be heaps of other fab like bumpstops, shockmounts etc due to the "adjusted" wheelbase. I fyou just use the wider hilux front spring in the back of a sierra, I cannot really see any advantage.
The "other" option is to grind the springs narrower at the chassis mount/shackle ends but I reckon this is serious hackyfab. It does work though.
A wider spring has a higher rate for the same other specs than a narrower spring.
Hilux front springs are not much longer (or have nore arch) than sierra rear springs.
Hilux rear springs are a fair bit longer than sierra rears (around 8 inches, I seem to recall) but have a heavily offset pin that is good or bad depending on what you want to do with the car.
