Mrs. Drafty, what vehicle was Drafty's brother in last year? Just curious as I got to know a lot of the competitors last year. I probably even met you guys when you's went to Pincally station. I was one of the officials on that stage.
He was in car 26 (i think) with Jeff Redmen a navey GQ shorty.
Was Pincally the one with the sand wall and sand run done both in day & night and also with the suprize tent (what a pissa that was) ?

You need to send one of the things you are framing to work with Glen so I can assess what you need. But, seeing as how I can't talk to you til they're ready, it would seem a little hard for me to give you this message, now wouldn't it?

Ahhh, so you're Mrs. Lovenberry??? (excuse the spelling)
Yeah, Pincally did have the sand wall. I was the starting official on the day run of the "Gone Bush" SS. I agree on the tent thing too. When we were told what that stage was, I remember thinking "every competitor is gonna hate us. They pay $1600 odd dollars to enter a bloody tent building contest!"

Nah i'm not her, don't even know how she is!
We had that event on the last day, just as the night stage was starting it began to rain and then it RAINED AND RAINED. It took us foreva to get back to HQ boy was it slippery. When we got to Packsaddle we filled up with fuel and food,by this time we were starven marven, about 25 mins later they closed the road we were lucky we just made it time to bad for the road train that got stuck, he was there for 2 days.
Any Word on how the Alaska Teams are doing? This is the first year for Ed Angle and Randy Sunden, they are in my club and would really like some info. Thanks guys!
also the other Alaska Team is Greg Mclintock's team. How are they doing? They are running this for the second year, since last year they broke REALLY bad on like the first event.
I am sorry for the ass whoopin you all are getting from us Alaskan, but you know we are some Hard individuals....

Umm, I feel a bit stoopid. I think I must have my navvies mixed up. I apologise Mrs Drafty.
You're not wrong about the rain on the last night's rain! We had to stay out on stage that night, and we had to pack up the stages and camp the next day. We left Pincally at 12:30pm, and we arrived at the presentation at 6:15pm!! And, we only stopped at Packsaddle for fuel. The road was actually closed when we got to it, but we put on a bit of a sob story to the copper, and he told us to take it easy and if anyone asks, he didn't see us. 8) I couldn't believe it. 5 3/4 hrs to get back to town. We didn't get the poor little Vitara over 40 km/h! Our trailer had about 12 inches of mud all over it by the time we got back. I had never been so happy to see bitumen in all my life.
The truck that got stuck was about 1/2 hour north of Pincally on the hwy, and it took three trucks and an excavator to get it out!

No sorry Liz. Just tried to call one of our boys down there, but there's still no answer. They must be still out of phone range. I'm not entirely sure when it's finishing. If they do as they did last year, it will officially finish the "fun event" at about midday tomorrow (our time), the guys will wash the cars, then presentation will be around 6:00pm tomorrow night.

Just got a call from Sam they are now back in BH but the wheel feel off Glens car today it aparently snapped a stub axle on the front but they have welded it back up and drove a couple of hours back to BH. They are trying to source one in the morning and will be heading home after the presentations which start around midday.
The Alaskan Jeep that entered last year finished with very little troubles but the one that was entered for the first time this year pulled out yesterday with rear pinion bearing failure. I beleive the Black Alaskan Jeep was the only Jeep to finish.
The plain yellow IBEX is doing very well and has only DNFed one stage which was just a minor technicality on writing down some numbers so it should be very high on the list.
Should have a few more pics and info tommorrow.
