spring over is definately not legal don't know the ins and outs like some people say that using hilux diff housings is ok but i don't think they are
i've seen a few suzi's getting around brisbane with spring over though and on the same note there are plenty of people getting around with vehicles lifted to high i can't see it being legal in 6 months so up to you which way you go

In my attempt to gain info on becoming authorised to sign off on mod plates I printed out the modifications guideline from the qld transport website and it states that you can not legally do a spring over conversion. There has been talk for many years of standardising the states but that has been going on for years

thats buddy ,i was just lookin back through some paper work on me shorty and came across the bluetag papers for the seats and some other stuff and it had all the spec's needed for the soa in qld but that was back in 2001 .Beastmavster wrote:Yes at one time it was legal in QLD under certain circumstances. There was a couple of loopholes which on the whole have now been closed.

Yes...so long as those hilux axles stay in the hilux then yes
Thats one of the loopholes that is meant to have been closed. An actual engineer on here can probably supply details if you go to him and ask him to do it but there was a special bulletin referring to this type of swap.
It's not in the normal code of practice you can buy at QLD Government bookstores (and note the bastards still sell you old versions without all the updates and additional info).
If you have a vehicle that has had a modplate fitted stating that the SPOA conversion was engineered prior to the change in the law then that is still legal as well.
If you did the mod before then and never got it engineered tough luck.

Being legal won't stop the local boys in blue from giving you a hard time. They will just look for something different to get you on. They will just tell you to go over the pits anyway.oozuk wrote:my sierra was SPOA back when it was legal so it's still currentily donehumphey wrote:has it ever been leagle in qld
