Hi everybody, i am still in search of this style of difflock for a leaf sprung salisbury unit, if anybody knows of one going cheap let me know. PM me. Thanks for looking.

Surely by the time you freight it to malta (or whereever you are) it would be cheaper to buy a newer style of locker. Or if you really want to save money - weld the diff centre and drive on-road with only one halfshaft.

Thats why i am looking for a used one, i would be prepared to pay the freight if the price for the locker was right. The only cheap alternative is a detroit, heard lots of bad stories about that when used on the road, so its off my list.

I run a permanant 4 box and the thought has crossed my mind but i guess that running on one shaft will have quirkey handling, especially when on the wet road and around some corner with a bit of right foot! You run yours like that?

No, I have a Maxi-Drive locker and love it. I have a mate who did it though when he was waiting for his maxi-drives from Mal.

I have only ever seen about 3 of the locker you want (with my own eyes) and all were series (rover diff) models. I have never seen the salisbury version.

Detroits drive fine on the road if set up properly.

Lock-Rights are good value too...simple, fit & forget, tho you do have to alter your driving technique a bit to use them on pavement ...They mail through post..

But tyres need to be even all around if used with fulltime t/box.
