Ok my zooks exhaust has finally died.. i have 2 options
1. A normal stainless steel exhaust $180
or
2. $160 for the 2 inch cat back system in mild steel . Comes with a straight through sport performance muffler.
for the 2nd option it will cost me $320 in stainless steel and i cant afford that
What one should i get?

Yup, just plan for extractors next. Mild will last quite a few years even near the beach.

Well you can always powder coat the mild steel in a few months when money is available
(do this before the extactors or else you never get round to it )

Have a think about this.
Normally, the factoey exhaust system lasts pretty well, and it is nit out of the question to get 10 years or more out of the stock set up. This is just plain aluminised mild steel, just lik eyou buy from the exhaust shop.
If we are talking about, say, a 15 year old sierra, and the car is doing any sort of off road work, then there is no way that that car will last longer than a well built mild steel exhaust.
For my mind, stainless is for countries that salt their roads in winter, guys who live on the beach, or for the bling.
I thend to find that like tyres on sierras, the exhaust is usually damaged by off road use or gets modified beacuse of other changes long before it ever gets the chance to rust out.
Save the $$$ and go for mild steel.

i am sure i red somewhere that if you go up. inches its the equiv of a mandrel bend. Ie 1.5 inch mandre is same as 2 inch press bent (roughly i know ) it was an articule about not wasting money before exploring alternatives.
