G'day Kent, I didnt see your reply cos I was int he corner crying!! Just kidding.
I am looking for a Subaru GT Forester, I seem to be doing a few highway kms lately and cant see that changing, as well as the price of petrol here in Aust keeps going up. I was going to get a Prado (small landcruiser) but 15l per 100km round town scared me off.
I bought the Feroza while at uni as it was a good option but just cant squeeze all my gear and the odd mate into it. However now that I have detailed it I must say I know why I bought it!
Ill hang out here still, its a great forum and I am sure that I wont be away from a true 4WD for ever so its good to keep your eye in. I might however be found on the odd ricer forum, just dont hate me for it.

On boooooost!!
Thanks Dave, rest assured its not a Cruiser.
In my opinion, if you use the car primarily for single transport or just camping with the g/f etc its a great car. Its whe you have to travel 300-400 km in a day with two mates and gear for the whole days fishing etc or drive to melbourne and back in a week that it gats tiring.
The Feroza has good fuel consumption and plenty of space for two ppl. I have had it packed to the hilt for two weeks camping and fishing on north nsw rocks, couldnt see out of the rear window and there was rod tubes and tents on the roof, but here is where stiffer springs come in handy.
Sure you can do this in an 80 more easily, but you wont get 400 km up the coast for less than $40....

try a trailer? always seemed to work for me. whenever i went camping, i always threw everything in the trailer and away i went. would have the cab stuffed full of people and odd things, and the trailer would carry the brute of all the equipment. guess i loved driving roza so much i couldnt of cared less for the ride....

Hmmm... I was seriously considering an XT a month or two back. Just received the brochure in the mail today for the new updated model- now has 169kW and 320Nm! Should go alright I reckon.Croz wrote:I am looking for a Subaru GT Forester, :
BTW good luck, and here's a link you'll find useful : http://www.gtrydaz.com/forum/index.php
David
Hey David, thanks for the link, been there for about a week now.
Its an awesome forum with a huge amount of tech and everyone is really welcoming, kinda like this place is/was.
I looked at the XT's but they are a bit out of my price range, I guess I'll just have to live with 130kw from the GT for a bit, or at least until I get my hands on a bigger turbo...

David, Yes we have the Forester...lot's of them. All because of Paul Hogan doing our commercials over here Was the GT questionable cornering because of the power or suspension? I loved the stock Feroza and thought that it handled as well as my old `66 Porshe and I drove it about the same way...now I'm death on wheels TRD (Toyota Racing Development) or Alpine makes a supercharger for my engine but it is ~$3000.00.
I'll have to look for a kw to hp conversion so I'll know what most of the rest of the world is talking about.
Sorry to jack your thread Croz...will still miss you.

Yeah the Forester is alike the the WRX, they share the ssame chassis and as suck a lot (not all) the WRX bits bolt on, such as swaybars etc... I have been told they need some attention in that department.
Basically the GT over the WRX xos it has more carrying capacity and is suitable to dirt road driving, of which i do a bit. Also, its not such a target for theft and the cops.
