brake help
i changed my rear brake pads today on my 76rangie, i bleed the brakes and everything but theres something wrong. i have to really put my foot on the brake for it to stop and also when my foot is on the brake theres a kind of hissing sound. what could the problem be???
thanks
thanks
yeah i agree with popeye that would most likely be the prob when you bleed brakes you should only pump the pedal as far as it would travel under normal breaking i always roll the floor mat under the brake pedal to stop it when bleeding

if at some time water has got into the booster the seal suface will rust and when you over stroke the pedal the seal contacts the rusted area and wrecks the seal causing vacuum to leak well actually allow air in from atmosphere

I had/have a similiar problem, my brakes sometimes worked and sometimes not. , it always made the hissing sound though (not sure if this is normal). When it didn't I could put my foot all the way to the gound , and the cor would brake very slowly. Anyway, my MC was so bad i needed it resleeved, and new seals. anyway 170 bucks, it's back together and ready to go into the car 2morro, so well see how i go
