Yeah I know about them regs & I'll be right on the front becuase I'll be welding the tabs on so that the lighst are mounted back - Rather brail drive with the bumper than my lights....
But I thought there might have been some regs on the light placement, obstruction of view/etc that might be a problem....

This does not say you cant mount on the roof (doesn't affect driver's view).

you have to have an even number of "auxillary headlights" in QLD but its ok on the roof as long as they are wired up with high beam only.
Fog lights can be no more than 600mm apart and be no higher than headlights.

Last time I read the QLD regs it said that spotlights should be mounted in pairs, but individual lights were OK if mounted symmetrically. There was nothing specifically outlawing odd number of lights.
There was also a regulation that spotlights could not be mounted higher than 1400mm - so this would make roof mounted lights on anything besides a subaru illegal.
