Hi,
I have a 1991 Daihatsu Rocky with PS and my steering gear started to leak 3 months ago. I can't spend $500 US to buy a new gear on my truck, so I am looking at disassembling it and replacing all gaskets and seals. Does anybody know where I could buy a gasket/seal set for this vehicle? In the mean time I will put used gear and see how long it will last.
Thanks a lot!
Dmitry

How to refurbish Daihatsu Rocky/Feroza power steering gear?
Moderator: Tiny
You probably don't want to do this but a good used Toyota IFS steering box will probably work for aroung $100.00. I have heard of people putting Daihatsu pitman arms on Toyota steering boxs because they are flat.
You can also do a slavage yard search on the internet. I found manual locking hubs in Denver CO and a part time transmission and transfer case in Florida. You can try local salvage yards but if they get them they are usuall squashed in a short period of time.
Hey SimplyPV, have you got an extra steering box?
You should be able to get the seals and gaskets from Daihatsu USA. Check Keven Stoelbs site or the new WARFS site for suppliers.
