grooving the middle lugs on SS TSL's
Hi there I've recently scored some second hand swampers with about 60% tread on them and was thinking of getting them "grooved" through the middles to get more edges, any thoughts..pros/cons... the pic shows ya what i mean

I've got a WEAPON OF MOSS DETRUCTION
siping is different to grooving. siping is making 'cuts' through the tread block without actually removing any material, which increases traction and flexibility without negatively impacting wear rates. grooving is the removal of material to create more and smaller tread blocks - grip and flexibility are further increased in most offroad situations but wear is accelerated.mad_landie wrote:its called siping (syping)
and allows the tire to flex just a bit more
Free air locker to the first 20 callers!
Here is a siped MTR. Improves grip a lot, especially on wet rock. In the US there are companies that will sipe your tyres for you quite cheaply.dumbdunce wrote: siping is different to grooving. siping is making 'cuts' through the tread block without actually removing any material, which increases traction and flexibility without negatively impacting wear rates. grooving is the removal of material to create more and smaller tread blocks - grip and flexibility are further increased in most offroad situations but wear is accelerated.
