Go to dalby, buy an old 75 paddock basher, Get the biggest roo shooting light mounted on the roof with an internal handle and be done with it!!!!!!!!!! :twisted:

Yeah I know about them regs & I'll be right on the front becuase I'll be welding the tabs on so that the lighst are mounted back - Rather brail drive with the bumper than my lights....

But I thought there might have been some regs on the light placement, obstruction of view/etc that might be a problem....

"Additional pairs of headlights, showing a beam of white light only, may be fitted and must not affect the drivers view. The headlights must be fitted symetrically. Additional high beam headlights must extinguish automatically when low beam is selected"

This does not say you cant mount on the roof (doesn't affect driver's view).

as far as ive been told you can have:

6 forward facing light under 1200mm unless you have a ute for some reason you can mount them above 1200.... work that one out!

I reckon some smart RTA guys will say that spots mounted on top of bull bars DO obstruct part of your forward vision, so therefore are illegal. We here in Qld are having enuf probs with rod holders on bars.

rod holders on bull bars are a pet hate of mine
yeah if your on the beach with rods in them fine
but take them off afterwoods

having seen pics of what a rod holder does to somone when hit with it you want to take em off to

If someone has the poor misfortune of bouncing off my barb at any speed, they aint going to come off lightly, rod holders or not!
Stupid pety law....once again, im sure if you speak to one RTA officer you'll get a different answer to the next. However i garauntee that none of them will ever put their name to it

you have to have an even number of "auxillary headlights" in QLD but its ok on the roof as long as they are wired up with high beam only.
Fog lights can be no more than 600mm apart and be no higher than headlights.

Last time I read the QLD regs it said that spotlights should be mounted in pairs, but individual lights were OK if mounted symmetrically. There was nothing specifically outlawing odd number of lights.

There was also a regulation that spotlights could not be mounted higher than 1400mm - so this would make roof mounted lights on anything besides a subaru illegal.
