G,DAY JUST WONDERING IF ANYONE CAN HELP, IVE JUST PICKED UP '92 MODEL 8O SERIES WITH 1HDT. AT IDLE AND UP TO ABOUT 1800RPM IM GETTING A BLUE/WHITE SMOKE THAT SEEMS ACIDIC (SLIGHTLY BURNS YOUR EYES) :bad-words: CHECKED FLAPS IN ROCKER COVER,TURNED FUEL PRESSURE UP(80PSI-MEANT TO BE 140 OFF GOV)SUSPECT POSSIBLE TURBO EXHAUST SEAL, RINGS, VALVE STEM SEALS? PLUS FUEL ECCOMONY NOT WHAT IT SHOULD BE,APPARNTLY MEANT TO BE GETTING ABOUT 980 AROUND TOWN, BUT ONLY GETTING 550 OUT OF BOTH TANKS, ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED,THANKS GUYS.

Can you be a bit more specific. When does the smoke happen, cold starts, all the time etc. What fuel pressure are you adjusting? What quantitiy of fuel are you using to get 550km?
Are you using any oil? If so how much?

SORRY, SMOKE IS EVIDENT ALL THE TIME, COLD START ETC. I CAN DRIVE ABOUT 20 KAYS AND LET IT SIT FOR SAY 1 HOUR AND START IT UP AGAIN AND IT IS EVIDENT,BUT THE LONGER I LET IT IDLE THE MORE EVIDENT IT APPEARS, NOT SO MUCH THERE WHILE DRIVING?,SO IVE BEEN TOLD.(SOMEONE FOLLOWING ME) YES IT IS USING OIL, ABOUT 750MLS TO 1 LITRE FOR 550-600KAYS OF DRIVING, IT DOESN,T SEEM TO BE USING AS MUCH NOW THAT THE PUMP PRESSURE HAS BEEN ADJUSTED. IM GOING FOR ADRIVE TO THE SNOW TOMORROW(ABOUT 400-450KLMS ROUND TRIP)AND WILL SET TRIP METER,AND CHECK OIL,FOR CONSUMPTION OVER THE NEXT 1000KLMS. IVE NOTICED IT ON A CUSTOMERS CAR RECENTLY BUT WHEN I ASKED SOME OTHER PEOPLE I WAS TOLD IT WAS COMMON ON 1HDT'S BUT MY DAD'S SEEMS FINE AND LEAVES MINE FOR DEAD? UNFORTUNATLY WHERE I WORK WE DONT GET TO MUCH DEISEL WORK AND MOST OF IT IS SUBLET TO DEISEL SHOPS!ANY OTHER THINGS I SHOULD DO/ OR PATHS U COULD POINT ME DOWN WOULD BE GREAT.THANKS
