NOTICE TO ALL COMPETITORS....

Scrutineering will be held on Friday afternoon/night this year.
All vehicles must be presented in a 'ready-to-compete' state.
The Scrutineering Session will be opened at 4:30pm, and close at 9:00pm.

Remember, if a vehicle is not scrutineered, it will not be allowed to compete.

I realise this guys. And, I can understand that it will be a push. But, we also want to try and avoid the hold ups we had last year, and get the comp running a lot earlier. And, while the option may not be available to everyone, maybe asking your boss for a couple of hours off on the friday arvo would be the way to go. I'm sure 9 weeks is enough notice for a couple of hours.
I mean, it can't be that bad, other weekend comps have earlier start times than that for the friday. Take last weekend's GC2000, competitors had to be there at 4pm on the friday. All of the winch challenges start scrutineering friday afternoon. I don't feel it is an unreasonable request as an organiser.
At the risk of sounding like a b*stard, it's a very jam-packed weekend, and we need to keep it flowing as much as possible. This is a way to streamline it for you guys, so there is more time to get through your stages. Bear in mind guys, we only had 8 teams competing for most of the weekend last year, and it was a push to get it all done. This year, there are 12 teams to get through. So this is a solution that we feel is going to work. I apologise for any inconveniences, but we really do have to go this way.

Thanks Nat. Will do.

Not sure where we will have you yet. Going up probably this weekend to have a look at what we have to work with, then finalise our stages.

It will be interesting how many competitors drop out as they wont be able to meet scrutineering.

Reckon I'll make it in time, probably be there Friday morning again. I'm all for a quicker start on Saturday as we didn't get to complete all stages last year across the two days.

Last year it was standard fees for entering and camping in the park.

Yep, that'd be great Mandy. So long as you guys can get there friday night, it should be fine. We are aiming to have a 7am kick-off on saturday morning. So, if you can get there early enough, we can go through your stage with you both.

Thanks again.

Brett, unfortunately, we don't have any say over the park fees. I guess the best thing to do, would be to give Black Duck a bell, and just say that, you'll only be setting up camp, and not competing for the friday. They might come into it, they might not. I really don't know how they'd view it.

If they were to charge a whole days rate just for setting up camp on friday night, they can go jump
Have never paid to do it at Landcruiser Park Or Rover Park so i dont see a charge being welcome there  ;)
If thats the case,we'll se ya early Saturday morning.

I dont think many ppl who cant get there until late friday arvo/night would be willing to pay for friday as well as the comp fee plus camping for rest of weekend considering they must be there to be scrutineered on friday.

Sounds like a possible money scheme coming on.

Guys, I will try my best to work out some sort of arrangement with Black Duck for entry on the friday. But, at the end of the day, they are running a business. And, if someone pulls in at 1:00pm on friday, they can still get use of the park for a half a day before the comp starts. But, if somone is there only in time to scrutineer, I don't think it is fair that they pay for the friday.

Leave it with me, and I'll see what I can do.

Good news guys.

I have just spoken with the owner of Black Duck.

If you are there for the competition, and are only there on the friday to be scrutineered, you will only pay for saturday and sunday. ($30 per day = $60 for the weekend).

Just make sure you mention you are a competitor for the Logan Challenge when signing in.

Officials, your name will already be on a list at the office. Already taken care of.
