urgent g16b help

Post by antt »

my g16b wont start and i need to get home :bad-words: :bad-words: :bad-words: :bad-words: :bad-words:

it turns over fine, but just wont fire

i've tried the efi diagnostic thing, it flashes 12 which is normal operation
i've cleaned the contacts in the dizzy, it has a good spark, i've pulled the plugs and they seem fine, though they were dry, i thought'd they'd be a little wet from being turned over but it not firing?? could it be a fuel prob?

it did this on saturday, but i left it for 5 mins and it started fine, i've been tryin tonight for 30mins with no luck :x :x :x

what else could it be before i burn the fukin thing to the ground? :bad-words: :bad-words:

Have you tried just putting some fuel down the Carb? If it fires this way then you have a Fuel Prob.

Ok i never knew that. I would have thought it was Carb.

Then i did just read you diagnosed the EFI

Do you have any tools where you are? Do you have any Aero Start or even some De-Greaser?

So he should have some sort of Aerosol that you can spray into the Air Intake to see if it Fires. De-Greaser should work but only spray it for a second to see if it fires. Or a Squirt bottle with some fuel in it would be better.

Would have to be realy Clogged for it to not Run. Especially all of a sudden. You would have noticed a huge loss in power when driving if it were that clogged. Pull the Fuel return hose off the end of the Fuel Rail and see if you have fuel flow here.

a long shot but how low is ur tank as the pump may have picked up a hole heap of sediment off the bottom and clogged the filter really bad

The Guys next door to you in the Bike Shop should have an injector Pulse tester. Its just a small globe that is plugged into the wires that goes to the injector. Plug this in and then crank the engine. If the globe doesnt flash then you have no pulse to the injectors. This can also be tested with a multi meter.

turns out today it was a dodgy fuel pump.

which was caused cause of all the offroad damage i've done to it

the pump was so bent in the tank we had to panel beat it to get it back in once it'd been fixed up

just another reason for that fuel cell i've been wanting ;)
