jack fuel consumpton
dogoff,
Not sure what the 3.1 jacks consumption should be, I can only relate to the 2.8 rosdeos which is fairly good.
So heres a few more queries....
Is the exhaust the original standard unit or has it been replaced?
The reason I ask is, I have a 2.8 rodeo, and when I replaced the exhaust on it the muffler was almost completely choked with soot etc, bloody thing just went thud when it hit the ground, didnt even bounce. At 240k it may be worth checking yours.
Also tyre sizes are they the standard size for the jack? If they are larger your odometer will under read effecting your fuel consumption figures.
The trouble shooting guide for the 4jb1t also mentions;
leaking fuek system
clogged air cleaner
poorly adjusted idleing speed
injection nozzle pressure too low
defective delivery valve in the injection pump (keeps dripping)
valve clearences incorrect
low compression
weak valve springs.
Haveing the aero dynamics of a brick doent help either.
do you run with roof racks?
Hope this helps

You get how many litres per 100K? I've got a 3.2 V6 Jack.dogoff wrote:Hi has anyone modified there 3.1td jack to get better fuel consumption, im

Think yourself lucky that you own a diesel. I'm getting about 15/100 on the highway! If only somebody would steal or crash into it. Would have no hesitation in giving it the flick. Would have to buy another 4x4 though
Ben
What revs is it sitting on at 110km/h and 120km/h.
My 2.8 t/d rodeo sits on just under 3000rpm at 100km/h at 105km/h its on 3000rpm, getting around 10-11 per 100km. If I go any faster it really starts to chew the diesel, Havn't really worked out how accurately but at a guess if I travel at 115-120km/h it goes to 13-14L per 100km (3100-3200RPM). Also remeber A/C on or window open will add to your usage. Thats all highway.
