When I am driving along normally, all of my warning lights will flicker. It is like there is a wire grounding/shorting out somewhere.
When you first turn the key to on (& let the glow plugs heat up) all the warning lights come on solid. Maybe there is a wire in this circuit that is grounding during driving & causing my problem.
I have had a look under my dash, nothing seems out of place. I have manipulated all the looms I could find, but nothing was causing the lights to flicker. It would be good to know what I am looking for, before I go pulling my dash apart.
Has anyone had anything similar??

Actually, now I think of it, I have a follow up question.
No matter how tight I make the alternator bolts, the thing still slowly loosens & then starts rattling big time.
The belts are not over tight, it seems as though the lower mount (the big long bolt) is just loose. Maybe the alternator has flogged out the moounts.
Well it seems that I will be pulling the alternator out soon anyway.
Any ideas?? Anyone with similar problems??

there should be a little steel sleeve with a slot in it, in the mounting hole in the back bracket on the alternator. if that is gone then you won't be able to tighten it up properly.Mytqik wrote:Actually, now I think of it, I have a follow up question.

are both your belts the same length and the same age? if you lose one and don't replace them both it can misalign the alternator.
