Post by CB0569 »

I run a snorkel and was just wondering if the cold air (eg winter night air) can effect LPG.I know it`s good for petrol vehicles but is it good for gas?
Thanks

All fuels burn better with cold air......

This is why truckies perfer to drive at night.... cool night air !

This is why intercoolers were developed ...... cool the daytime air down

LPG is the exact same .......... You'll get better ecconomy and more power with cold air.

As to why ........
The oxygen molecules are smaller in the cold..... therefore there are MORE of them in a given space......
More oxygen = bigger bang

It's good, but apparantly if you don't have a pipe running from your mixer to the snorkel to equalise the pressure difference your mixer will run like shit.

There is a thread on OL somewhere - search or I am sure v8patrol has added it to the bible, can check there also.
