Anyone got TRIK (brand name)Beadlocks

Post by Webbie »

I looking at getting a set of these beadlocks they sound a bit light but he said they have sold over 200 set to mudders and rally and offroad racers so they may be o.k And no i cant give you a pic cause he can't give me one to look at so the first time i will see em is when/if i get em .
Lockers or Knockers ,both will make for fun.

Found this...

http://offroadracing.com.au/trikpricelist.htm

I take it they are a weld-on kit??? What are the specifications - how thick are the plates, how many bolts of what size and grade.

trik

Post by Webbie »

Yep ben ive seen this and the info i recieved was a 4mm weld on plate and a 2mm top ring but with 18-20 bolts can't remember ,this top ring has been formed to the same shape as the top of your rim so the forming would be the strengthining piont.
Lockers or Knockers ,both will make for fun.

the top ring is way to thin, it will pull in when u tighten the bolts up,

ask em if the do a 32 bolt one, heaps better then 18,
spreads the load even.

depends how the outer ring is formed..... it its like the big balls ones and its pressed into shape u will find it is made so that they clamp together, but if the outer is just a flat ring then yes it will pull in...

lock

Post by Webbie »

Ben that will all depend on what you make of it  :D
I got a set of those Trik bead locks, they look very nice and considering the outside ring is only 2mm they have fully rolled and pressed is so its a dead ringer for the ouside edge of your rim. They look like they will do the job nicely,BTW thankx MORRIE :!: :!: :!: :D
I'll post up a pic asap.

I just reread the thread and thought a photo may help here.

These spreader brackets spread the load and you can clamp the crap out off them.

if enough people are keen i could probably arrange a pretty good price on basic inner and outer rings like these. for 15" wheels, in numbers, you would get close to $100 per wheel. postage would be a killer though. they are 6mm inner and outer rings.

Ok, here is what I have found out,
1. They are the same as the ones I have had for over 3 years :) (look at the above post)
2. they come in 15" & 16", steel only.
3. each set includes 1 weld on inner ring, 1 bolt on outer ring and cap screws and nuts.
4. they have 24 bolts
5. the outer ring is powder coated
6. the outer ring is not flat but has 2 rolled edges for strength
7. as a group buy he will sell them for $75 a set

I have had PM's from lots of people expresing interest over 50 sets, some I can tell are serious, others are kicking tyres, and if outer limits is anything like real life, that 50 sets will probably be more like 20 :) , Morrie is a real nice bloke, and I will not stuff him around and as I am not making anything out of this myself I will not stuff myself around!

If you like the sound of what I have told you and you do want to buy a set (as I do), PM me and we will get this thing going, (I say PM me, as I know some of you guys like to be a bit covert ;) )
To set a time frame (because without one this could go on for months)
I would like to place our group order late next week, if you have any other questions post them up here as they may answer someone else's question.
Peter.

Handy tip #1 : get $ from those that show interest up front.. if they are serious, they will send bucks without question... thats how I did cups and lightforces...

Just a tip, 3mm inner rings buckle and the outer ring can bend letting the tyre down when hit. I used too have the same locks and didnt work too well on the rocks.
Just my 2 cents.
