Anyone ever Change an LT230 Input seal in the car? ZF auto.

Post by RUFF »

Well i rebuilt the Tcase and re-fitted it yesterday and its running perfect except it is pouring oil out the Input seal :bad-words:

Now because i have a ZF auto i can remove the input(Spud) shaft from the Tcase and im pretty sure i can make a hook like tool to pull the seal out and then fit another in from the rear. Im pretty confident the seal can be removed and fitted this way as there is no shoulder for the seal to sit against when fitted from the front while the Tcase is out.

And yes i fitted a new input seal but the oil is defianatly comming from the weap hole in the adapter housing between the Auto and Tcase so it was obviously either faulty or damaged on instalation. The spud shaft also has no wear at the seal surface as it was only renewed not long ago.

So has anyone else here actually done this?
