hi after some different views on which diff's would be well suited to install in an earlier non wide track sierra.

It will depend on wether you have a 1.0 litre driveline or a 1.3 driveline..
4:6 and 4:9 LJ diffs fit fairly easily into 1.0 diffs, which are 4:1 originally.
I don't know about the 1.3 stuff, but there is a lot on info on here
