what to do with the pos rangie

Post by trr35l »

have range rover sitting up the back yard growing old as we speak tried to sell no one wants so do i

1 try to sell on the cheap to get rid of it
2 cut the crap out of it and make a four door bob or ute
3 wreck and sell the bits

the bits are twin lockers, custom bar work(bull bar side bars and rear bar)
reduction transfer (lt230) 5 speed from a dizzy long ranger tank(standard range on any thing else) 16 inch mags 5 of

so you can see it is a good start point for somthing do not need the the money from the sale but do not have money for build up (thats going on a piece of jap crap which we will not talk about here)

any one cut one down please tell of the pit falls of doing this
rover gone zook here i come

If you don't wanna build the RR, then I would start selling stuff off. You won't hang on to the MD stuff for long.

What sort of lockers are they? If you are parting it out I might be interested in at least the rear....
84 Rangie, 3 inch spring lift, 2 inch body, Megasquirted 4.6, R380, rear Maxi, 34x11.5 JT2s. Simex FM installed.

What's wrong weith the Rangie :?:

It would be cheaper to rectify the issues you have with your rangier than start a full buuild-up on another vehicle, unless you are sick of Rangies

On the other hansm, they're unfortunatley not worth much these days and strip and sell the rest cheap (as a stock Rangie that is) would maybe a batter option. It's unfortunate that you had come to this conclusuion.

Good luck with it.

mate i love the rover good to drive good size off road and sounds great the jap crap is only going to be a tour bus not going to build up to much as i got it cheap with lift and rear locker just setting up for a long couple of trips i have planned and hang on to as daily driver if the rover sells will build up then

i did not think i could sell for a large sum of dollars but do not want to give away due to it being a good start point for somthing bigger

have already talked myself out of strip and sell to much junk with out having half a rangie in the back yard

Yes it's hard, I know what you're getting at. I have the same problem, I have crap everywhere and Christmas this year is the big cleanup. Within reason of course, what I have left will go to the tip no q's asked

I've tried to sell mine as well with little sucess and with fuel prices as they are, it's very difficult to move V8's.

Hopefully you make the right decision.
