i have a jeep liberty i know its not a real offroader and it sucks off road but i was wondering what the largest size tire i could fit on it with out too many major mods?
one thing the liberty has is ok power 210 with the 3.7 liter, but it only has a 3 speed with a 4th overdrive

31's take a bit more than just minor mods the suburban 3.5" lift kit (ome 2.5" + spacers) lets you run 30" tyres any more than that your looking at some pretty major work on the IFS front end or getting very friendly with a grinder

Ok, I tried running 245/75 Cooper ST's on mine (daily driver) and had rubbing before lifting and I have the prelowered KJ (02 model prior to the factory dropping it an inch)
One of the guy's in m elbourne actually squeezed some 32 MTR's on his after a few mods here and there, but he's since seen the light and moved onto another rig more appropriate to his needs.
The best place to read up on anything regarding KJ's is the lost site in the states http://www.lostkjs.com/forum/phpBB2/ as they are well ahwead of us. There are very few modded KJ's here in Oz at this point in time.
I am now running a skyjacker kit and it was the best thing I have done. cannot compare a lot to the OME kit suburban does as I have not driven one with it but did take one for a drive with some OME stuff in it mine shytes all over it as far as ride kwality goes IMO.
Avoid the spacer kit's, I speak from experiance and if you do intend to any sort of lift then look at either the Skyjacker or OME kit's.
The suburban kit will get you up to 31's and with some additional trimming maybe 32's but remember, the KJ has a aliminium diff and it's not the strongest so as you go up you will more thwan likely start possible problems in other areas.
