Anybody had any good or bad experiences with the new OME Dakar leaf spring range?
Seems to me that ARB is going the Dakar range for all leaf springs now, due to better costs, perhaps these are no longer made in Oz??
Any info would be appreciated.

OME Dakar Leaf SPrings - Good or Bad??

), for nearly half the price carrols springs quoted me, so far, very very happy with them 
The dakar springs are made overseas India i think and that is the only differance between them and the locally made springs.They use the same steel and jigs that are used here and the reason for it was ARB were been hammered by the local spring makers and had to find a way to be more competetive.

ARB told me that they have 2 left in stock, so I should grab them ASAP, or else have to wait 8 or so weeks. dont like being rushed into buying something by sales people, im a salesperson myself!!!!!!
still wonder if the indian quality is the same as aussie made OME springs. perhaps it is, just labour is the only variable. u never know. Might have to look at Liverpool springs??

I'd tell ARB they can keep em on the shelf, but thats just my 2c

If ARB can sell them at a substantially cheaper price than the old OME's it makes me wonder about the quality because freight aint cheap so the labour must be reeeeeal cheap......then I start to wonder about quality control etc.
Howerver I have read a couple of posts from users who are happy with them

Makes me think I might give the Dakar range a miss. Quality control, cheap labour, all adds up to a real cheap spring, but will it last the distance compared to the dollars spent?? Probably not, and since I aint made of money, I cant afford to toss them in the scrap metal bin at work!! (ala My Lil Lux) 
I might wait of on the springs part, and go with Tough Dog shocks, in lieu of the Ranchos (and Rockcrawler springs...these are made in Malaysia as opposed to the sales plug that they are Yank springs!!).
Opposite Lock in Brookvale are fitting Tough Dog springs (and shocks) to another Hilux in the next few days, will probably have a chat to that guy and see how they rate. Will let you guys all know on the opinions.

Most reputable 4wd companies have this, ARB, TJM, etc etc

I thought oem was original equipment (can't work out what it's meant to stand for though), as opposed to OME which is aftermarket. Bit of confusion here i think!
