the holes should already be there and drilled/tapped, just a case of moving one stud and putting the bolt into the other

i jsut checked to see if it had pre tapped holes and there are none so what are my options here could i get a standard exhaust manifold and have the flanges cut off and put onto my manifold? or i am i better off getting the proper manifold

ok thought u had a 3l not a 2l, with that i got no idea what ya can do, a 3l head is worth round $700 not worth getting a 2lt head as they crack and everyone gets a 3l one

I thought the turbo unit just bolted straight on.

Ok you'll have to either get a 2LT head or a 3L head. The later model 2LT heads are almost identical to the 3L anyway.

what dou guys think the wreckers will sell ahead for off of a stuffed import or sumthing? or woudl it be worth having the head drilled and tapped to suit the pattern

You can't use the 2TLE or 3L, these dont have rockers like the 2L. That looks like a 2lt manifold try getting a 2lte manifold and should bolt straight up.

the 3L manifold woudl it be off a 2Lt-e
The 2lte and 3l bolts patterns are the same as the heads are interchangeable.
Looking at the bolt pattern of your 2l, it looks like a 2lte manifold will bolt straight up.

I know someone that did the same conversion but i'm almost certain he had to source a turbo manifold to suit as the 2lte didn't fit!I can find out Monday if thats any good to you?

I've seen street cars solve the problem of fitting oversize extractors to heads with exhaust studs to close to pipes by adding an intermediate plate between extractors n head. The intermed is fixed to head with countersunk allen bolts and a new set of wider spaced holes were set further out in the new plate to give clearance on fat extractors.
You could use a similar idea here. You would only need to use hex drives on the studs you removed, then setup studs in new posn to match turbo manifold. You mite also need to replace remaining studs with longer to make up for thickness of new ex plate. 10 or 12 mm should be enough thickness for plate. You'll have to use 2 ex gaskets too.
A manifold that fits would be easier, but if there's no way out, this should do.

Couldn't you just bronze or brase some new collars onto the manifold im sure if you took it to an engineering or good exhaust jiont they would do it for you, cause its not as if the exhust ports dont match up its just a matter if bolting it on  ;)
Lockers or Knockers ,both will make for fun.

thanks for all your help guys i thought of making to plates that bolt to each other then bolt onto the head and manifold but it woudl space the turbo to far otu and woudl have to move the brake master cylinder so i am jsut trying to swap the manifold for a 2L at the moment i will let you knwo how it goes and get pictures when its done
