just about done building my hilux (86 dualcab) and was wondering what size exhaust would be the best option?? its got a 2.4 turbo surf motor. also what muffler set up to use (eg 1 or 2 mufflers) thanks

Depends on your budget, best opion for performance would be a 3" dump pipe into a 2.5" mandrel with a straight thru muffer up to $700, On the cheaper side a pressed 2.5" from the turbo flange back with straight thru muffer will give quite impressive results up to $350.

I'm not sure what size the dump pipe is on mine, but from the first flange which is about where the drivers feet are my mates and I built a 2 1/2 inch exhaust with 2 mandrel bends for about $130 I think. We bought a 6mtr length of tube and 2 90 degree bends and cut the bends at angles to suit what it needed. No muffler though I think it might help with the general bbbbpppffffffttt sort of noise it has.
Oh and that was on a 3L motor.
