Well that was bloody fun, big thanks to Duncan and friends for help cut down that tree which got in the way
All of my plans of bringing the FJ40 up went to crap on Saturday morning due to various reasons so I decided to take the 80 and risk damaging her
Very good camping area and bloody amazing tracks throughout the hills close-by the camp site, beats going to Mundaring or Harvey etc anyday
Did some minor damage to the 80 series, such as passenger mirror smashed, dented side panels above fuel filler, two flares knocked half off, completley bent roof rack (but all fixed now) some sil damage, bent lower control arm oh and a staked tire that I only just realised this morning
Overall, a bloody good weekend, looking forward to future events to come

Yeh Kyle had 2 ticks on him ,if you could get me a dvd of the gully that would be cool Alcamist.
Dave already talked it over with Julie the winch for the suspension will be on before we return ,we will be the first one up Evolution Gully the challenge is on can anyone else make it or is game to give it ago.Im sure I no one guy that will give it a run wonce his buggy is finished heh Diy.Actually Scottys marutu looked like it would give it a good shake if it dosnt cause to much damage getting round the tree at the bottom

rover money pit on mogs !!!
I though the track was really good for a family type fun event. Wasn’t the hardest track out there (proved by the stock zook). I think the red track should be made a little harder. Maybe some cones so people have to take certain lines or loose points. I would love to see some steps made with wood, that could be separated to advantage the LWB’s a bit considering how tight the track is. Also the logs could be off camber so the cars will slip a bit and the second step should go the other way so it will twist the car up. The rock section that stuffed your tire, maybe take the small rocks out so there is deeper holes in it and you can attack the bigger rocks better. If you need to stack small rocks in the holes then you loose points… And you must take the rocks out after.
I don’t think you need to make the track longer like you suggested on the weekend Duncan, for a spectator it would be getter to make more with what you have so you can see more action from one spot. Just make it a little bit harder.
Although I hated the drive I’m keen for a busy bee if you guys want to do another one.

Im sure Alan will have another one soon to develop the track .
My own thoughts are that on the red track you should be made to drive straight up were you drop into the gully ,also start this a little more north just a bit steeper then you have to do it twice .Put some of the logs back in the bottom of the gully to drive over then cut out the left hand side of the little water fall to give you just a vertical climb. The rocky section you should be made to drive the left hand side and loose points if you go to the right .As for the blue course use a lot more of the available land to make more loops with some more of camber sections and maybe climb up to the top of the platue a couple of times instead of just the once.Remember that you will be doing these courses in reverse so climbing up out of the gullies on the red course will be difficult as there 90 degree turns with no run up.
As for sellection of divisions its very hard as by the old rules say AJs car will be D division as in he has suspension lift ,body lift ,tyres and lockers which is 5 mods as its one mode per locker. Now put him up against say one of the Quad Drive Gq wagons that turned up they had 35BFG muds ,3 inch suspension lift,2 inch body liftand at least one locker both these cars would be in the same division .But the Jeep comes from factory with a 5 link front end giving heaps of flex against the Gqs with radius arms that wont flex short wheel base which is nimble agianst long wheel base the jeeps power to weight ratio is way in front of the Gq wagon in all honesty the Jeep would beat the Gq hands down .You have to some how come up with a selection criteria that makes it fairer for those people who dont have full on tyres twin lockers ratios and full on suspension do you add more divisions ?
Just a thought suspension lift up to 3 inch 1 mod over that 2 mods 1 mod per locker 1 mod if you change ratios 1 mod for tyre size change but still street orentated ie BFG mud or Mtr all other tyre types and list them 2 mods body lift 1 mod trimed pannels 1 mod suspension mod ie fitting 5 link or a frame 1 mod per end add all your mods up then apply penalty points for the more mods you have that then would even up cars in the same class making it more fair. Then out on the course give some bonus lines for extra points but make the bonus lines hard any thoughts

just a thought on the classes for the comp.
A class stock up to 31's
b class 1-2 mods up to 32s
c class 2-3 mods upto 33's
d class 4 mods upto 34's
e class 4 mods + over 35's
suspenion 1 mod
lockka 1 mod each
body lift 1 mod
ratio's 1 mod
tyres 1 mod only if they are to big for that class
still have the bonus points and penalty points where ever you want to put them on the coarse and modifi the coarse to suit the bonus point and penalties .
