BJ60's in OZ?

Post by Snailtrail »

Hi all, ive been lurking on this form for awhile, its about time i posted.

Im just wondering whether any bj60/61's have been imported into Aussie? I feel a 60 with a 15bt would make a good, reliable wagon, and it would be great to drop the turbo 4 pot onto the original engine mounts of the BJ.

Cheers.

3B powered 60 series was never sold in Aus. The 3B engine was only sold in BJ42, BJ70 and BJ73 Landcruisers (and Coaster buses.)

I beg to differ :) No 13BT powered 60 series was offered by Toyota anywhere.

I beg to differ your differ

The bj60 comes with a 3B (gutless) or a 13BT (about as powerful as the 12HT in some cases)

The BJ60 was only released to the japanese, and perhaps some other foriegn markets, but certainly never aus/usa

I'm pretty sure the 13Bt was offered in the 60 series in Canada.

And furthermore it seems they were only offered in canada (eh) for 1 year only..

BJ60's with the 3B Diesel became available in Canada in 1984, then they were replaced with with the HJ60 with the 6 cylinder Diesel and a 5 speed transmission from '85-'87

ahhhh, thats a scary thought! The stockers 2h is gutless enough in the 60, let alone a normally aspirated 3b!!!
If you want a spare 60 for bits-
