a weird shudder

Post by VaughanS »

I recently bought a Wrangler Renegade YJ, and sometimes when driving it on the road there isa shudder, mainly when accelerating from a stand still, yet it doesnt happen all the time and only when turning left and accelerating

Does anyone have a clue what it could be, hope its not the differential!?!?

Minor lift 1.25 inch Shackle lift. The U-bolt in the steering is frozen apparently, would that cause a shudder?

Sorry Im so vague on the definition. I recently got the car. and am still learning the finer details.

When I am at stationary, and start accelerating and turning left, not hard acceleration either, though it has never happened when acelerating in a straightline.

Normally when it happens, I stop accelerating and push the accelerator again and straighten the wheel and it goes, it doesnt last long either.

It is a heavy shudder, the whole car shakes, and its like a wheel is stuck, could it possibly be the bearings or something like that.

Im not sure ifI should just ignore it or get it checked out

Could be bearings....but could be a range of things.....Start by testing the bearings though....
