Post by Hoppy11 »

Just wondering if anyone knows if an LSD is available for MQ/MK front diffs, I heard a rumour that it was an optional from new.

If you need axles or housings let me know. Off centre H233's are quite easy to come by here, also C200 LSD's.

Check this out
http://www.locked-drive.com.au/dominator.htm

Before you get all excited the no longer stock them however if you can get hold of a navara or pathfinder lsd they will fit in contrary to what nissan will tell you. This info came from the guy who runs dominator lsd.

Why?
All you would need to do is drop your crownwheel off the open diff onto the lsd centre and save having to swap pinions as well.

sounds so easy, has anyone on these forums thought of putting an LSD out of a Navara or pathfider into the front of an MQ/MK.

When i said " not while ARB still makes Air Lockers" I was refferring to myself not being part of the new trend in LSDs... not anyone else....

Im on of the only ones on this board running a front ARB locker In an MQ, that i know of.... im sure everyone else would be happy for LSDs...

well i know of one other, & i shall be another as well, once i can actually work on the car again, i've come to the decision thou after now having a locker in comparison to a lsd, the locker kicks ass & lsd's might as well be an open diff as they are only effective when the wheels are on the ground

Road use however the lsd is noticable, stops ya doin circles as you boot it round corners in the wet, i've noticed the difference as my new patrol has a rear locker so therefore its open on the road which kinda sucks
Lsd / locker combo now that'd be user friendly :D

Don,t know where you learned maths but an ARB air locker is inly $1100 bucks and what about all the uncontrolable cv breakages and unnessesary stress on all of your drivetrain on hard surfaces when you don't want a locker in. I had one in the front of mine and took it out. I was just lucky there was more than one d/head in the world and got someone else to buy it.
