i have a 2.5intercooler turbo disel on my pajero and i use mobil1 fully synthetic 5w50. i recommend it a lot. one of the best oils out there. i change every 5,000kms or 6 months. driving here inthe ohilippines is hard because of the stop and go as well as the traffic, that's why i change evry 5,000kms.

i have 4m40 td motor and run Amsoil synthetic oil. i had the oil tested when i changed it after 15000km(oil filter change at 7500km) and it came back with a clean bill of health. no reduction in TBN (total base number).
the second lot i put in i ran for 18000km(with filter change at 7500km) and im just waiting for the sample to be picked up and tested. so will see what that comes back like(hopefully just as good).
the synthetic oils dont break down as fast as mineral oils and offer better lubricity when cold.
