I've had 2 sets of 37x13x15" now and I wont be changing in a hurry. For all terrain courses they are awesome! My ony gripe is that to go any larger in diameter they start to become too wide.
I'm yet to find a better tire for all terrain.
So good that I'm considering buying a fresh set

The lux weights over 2 ton and i run the fronts at 12 psi and the rears at 10psi (came of the bead once but that was my own fault)
Ps there 37-13-16
HOOLAY Wish i could buy boggers for my DH bike
breakages because they hook up so well? there is no other reason i can think of why tyres will cause breakages, other than they are too big for the equipment.bazooked wrote:1 of the guyz in our 4by club has em on his gq which has a small sc on it, hes tryin to get rid of them last time i heard because of to many breakages, and they were 37s.

Unless he means the tyre breaking, which i doubt.CRUSHU wrote:breakages because they hook up so well? there is no other reason i can think of why tyres will cause breakages, other than they are too big for the equipment.bazooked wrote:1 of the guyz in our 4by club has em on his gq which has a small sc on it, hes tryin to get rid of them last time i heard because of to many breakages, and they were 37s.

Thanks for the responses guys. That's what I was looking for, a tyre that was good for QLD conditions...
Seems like most people are running the 37x13? I was thinking of the 38.5x11x16 - beebee or 83lux - any thoughts on how the narrower tyre would go compared to the 13" wide???
EDIT - anyone grooved them?

no swampers are designed for DD,There an awsome tyre with HEAPS of traction specialy at low PSI and smash peices of drive terrain like a paper cup,I run 38.5 x 15 on a hilux front diff and probably the worse thing I`ve done besides buying a 4runner

I grooved mine before they were even mounted on a rim. Only cut 5x5mm slots perpendicular to the lugs. How much difference it makes is anyone's guess. The intention was to improve lateral traction. And seeing as I've never had cause to complain about lateral traction, maybe it worked. Next time I'll go deeper.ISUZUROVER wrote:Thanks for the responses guys. The 38.5x11x16 just look wrong. It's a height to width ratio thing. That's my biggest problem with them. I've never used them but a mate who has, recommened I stick with the 37". Have a look and see what you think.

Slight hijack, sorry, but can someone who knows confirm that Super Swampers (not boggers) are not a legal on road tyre? I thought they were....? I've driven on road with mine plenty......me bad?lowlux wrote:Super Swampers are not designed to be use as DD tyres. As for a hard core off road tyre they are one af the best.
No there not.beretta wrote:Slight hijack, sorry, but can someone who knows confirm that Super Swampers (not boggers) are not a legal on road tyre? I thought they were....? Boggers are an awsum tyre, Sold mine for cash to go OS, now I'm missing them
, you won't get a better tyre, use to run mine at 8 psi, and never broke anything, my panels on my Lux have been chewed out but no damage to the tyres.

Re: boggers
If the forestrover (IIA) ran 50" wheels with no suspension lift (just wider track and new mudguards) - I think I can fit 38's on without problems. Just need the power and gearing to turn themdef90 wrote:ben what are you looking at building with these boggers? don't know how well they will fit on sII

Thanks for the info Dave - maybe running half the tires around the wrong way improves lateral stability toobeebee wrote:

What did youe mate say was wrong with the 38's - sidewall stability or not enough tread width? Or just the looks? What rim width are you running?

83Lux and I are both running 8" rims. The 38" were BJ's old tyres but they look really weird. I think I'd prefer the extra width.ISUZUROVER wrote:Thanks for the info Dave - maybe running half the tires around the wrong way improves lateral stability toobeebee wrote:

Agree with bb, the 37's look better height to width, but have had a couple of mates running the 38's and they work awsum, especially on rock, they just look too narrow.
On road if you have ever driven with bogger on road in the rain, you will know how little side grip they have. Slip slidin thru all corners and roundabouts with the slightest touch of the right foot. Good fun for a while but prob not for ever.....

I would be keen to see this too. Anyone siped them???MARKx4 wrote:beebee, can you post up a couple of pics, showing the way you groved them
Thanks for the info TAZZ - I care about performance, not looks.

Ben,
One of the Guys in the LROCV runs the 38's and has for ages.
He seems to think there great as well.
Seem to be a good profile for the LR, his is a coiled S3 at about 94inch WB. He has a 350Chev so there is plenty of power to turn them, but he is reasonable on the right foot and has only broken one or two county cv's in 3 or so years.
Dave.

Oh, he has also probably seen more swampers than everyone else combined on this board.

He knows his stuff.
By the way, yes he is correct. They are not street legal.
