Driving Light Alignment

Howdy all,
I tried to do a search on this, but I didn't have too much success.

Just trying to find the best alignment for my Hella driving lights on my Rocky. Does anyone suggest crossing the beams over one another?? I've heard of it being done, but not quite sure if it's the best option.

Any tips??

Might seem like a straight forward thing, but I'm finding it hard to find a good setup.

hey man, what type of lights and what beam patterns do you have? Eg Spread/spread or Spot/Spread etc...

You just go to a nice straight road in the dark.. and move each light until you get the right position and light coverage.

It's easier to do if you unplug your headlights and the other spotty too. ;) That way you can see exactly where each spotty is lighting.

And then if you have 2xspread beams especially... you can aim to have the edge of each beam just meeting at the centre... and gives you a perfect light coverage with no black holes in the middle :lol:

My new Narva 175 Blues are a little difficult to get perfect.. silly mounting cup thingy-ma-jiggys

Should have specified a bit better, :). They're both spread's, Hella 100's.

Thanks for the tips. Bit more playing around to be done I think.

get a hammer, drive out to a dirt road, lossen the nuts only a little bit so they are stil held in that they (the spots) dont move, 'tap' :twisted: em until they are where you want em, and then tighten em up hella (pun actually not intended suprisingly :D ) tight. Even after tighteneing as much as i could with mine they alwasys jolt outta position, or the nuts come loose eventually :bad-words: , so yeah, its not a one off job ;)

Yeah good tip... loosen them so you can just move them with a bit of force.. (maybe not a hammer..lol.. esp. if they're new)

Its our Diesels that shake them out of alignment on idle F70.. lol :armsup: Feel the power..

LOL, yeah, my whole car sorta twists to the side as I rev it at lights.... its prolla a worn engine mount but meh, i can just pretend its the grunt :armsup:
