3inch on a gu coil cab

Post by mr Z »

hi guys,

i've read all the info on the 3 inch exhausts and just have a couple of questions.

i'll be getting the dump pipe and and straight through 3" exhaust fitted tomorrow, as well as adjusting the boost/fuel up to around 12psi

will this system be too loud (annoying) when cruising on 100-120?
a mate has a straight through muffler on his, do these make much diference to noise/performance?

i also cant decide where to finish the exhaust, out the back similar to the curent one.
or out the passenger side, just in front of the back tyre. anyone done this? is it much louder? any difference in performance

any input would be appreciated

thanks :D

for the ute i would go straight down the back it will be louder if you bring it just behind the cab and you may get diesel smoke coming back on to your paint work.

i have straight through exhaust on my wagon at a 120 no problems with noise but mine is a wagon though i here more from my tyres than anything else.

dont bother with muffle i love the sound of mine when you can here the turbo whistle through the exhaust best mod i ever did on my wagon ...

well its awsome, totally changed the car it pulls alot harder up hills etc and so much nicer to drive
the turbo sounds good too. inside the cab you can definetly hear it when under load but it sounds pretty good, no droning. i cant stop driving it!
